The secret to any good mobile application is a smoothly looking and easy to navigate user interface that boosts the user experience and a fluid functionality that gets that job and provides you with a multitude of alternatives to pick from at the same time. nPlayer achieved that and more.

The application looks magical smooth without taking away anything from the functionality or the user experience aspects. Navigation is quite fluid. Easy and simple for the user to use. Whether used on iPhone or iPad, the innovative UI continues to function superbly. It’s like the mother of all video players. The application plays pretty much any extension, whether it is video or audio. Of course the common extensions like FLAC, MP3, AVI, RMVB, MP4, MKV and WMV are all included plus a quick time plugin and very wide range of subtitles. It gives you as well the freedom to manipulate and customize the UI according to your preferences. You get to choose between two types of menus for example, whether tab bar or sliding view. Also the application is incorporated with gesture control options, which really add an exceptional fluidity to the user experience as you can fast forward by only swiping your finger.

The application is the first and only iOS media player that supports hardware acceleration. It provides you as well with the option to transfer files over the WiFi by entering a provided IP into your PC web browser and you can also share files using the application. You get as well the option to organize your files by size, date or name. nPlayer has a section for iTunes, through which you’ll be able to access your music, another for pictures and a cool section through which you can access your files anywhere on the world wide web, whether DropBox or Google Drive, you’ll find it there, and there is a dedicated browser within the application.

As of the playback itself, it works great. As you can change the saturation, contrast and brightness. What’s intriguing is the ease of use with ChromeCast, unlike other video players that you can get from the app store. Overall, nPlayer is the prefect application if you’re a film buff or you’re an anime fan who watches videos on the go, regardless to the format of either the video itself or the subtitles associated. The application remembers the history of what you watch and you access it anytime by clicking on Recent from the navigation panel and if you’re used to binge watching TV shows the app will not disappoint because by clucking on playlist you can create and add all the episodes you wish to watch one after another in no time. It will be light on the device and doesn’t consume much space.

If you don’t have the application yet I suggest getting it ASAP. It’s available on the app store for $4.99 which considerably cheap when to compared to the value you get by having the app. When you download it and start using it, you’ll end up realizing that watching videos on the go cannot just any simpler.
