Bejeweled Blitz is a gems matching app with all sorts of added twists, boosts, and wild cards. This is as bejeweled game with spice that will have you tasting its flavor all day. At the start of Bejeweled Blitz, you are given a choice between three boosts. You have 25,000 coins and each boost cost a price. Your choices are: mystery gem, detonator, scrambler, 5 seconds added to the end of game, and bonus multiplier. After using these boosts, they and your coins will run out. But if you match gems that have coins on them, you get extra coins. Some boosts can only be used once or twice per Bejeweled Blitz game.
Bejeweled Blitz gives you a four panel how-to-play screen that has animated images showing how Bejeweled Blitz works. In Bejeweled Blitz you can “swap adjacent gems to make sets of 3; 4 gems will create a flame gem; T and L matches will create a star gem; and 5 gems create a hypercube.” Sets of 3 gems make the gem disappear giving you points. If matched, a flame gem makes every gem surrounding it explode and disappear. T and L shaped matches that create star gems uses a lightening strike to strike all random gems north, south, east and west of it. Hypercube gems, created from 5 gems, electrocute all other gems like it on the board.
After the quick how-to screen, you are ready to play Bejeweled Blitz. You only get one minute to find matches, so remember to have a quick eye and a quick mouse. Bejeweled Blitz makes things easy; when you are stuck, Bejeweled Blitz will highlight a match for you. At its start Bejeweled Blitz is very addictive. Though you only get one minute to match as many gems as possible, you will wish for more, and quickly get back into the game after the first round. Play as many times as you can to get a high score. Though you may run out of time, your points add up; enough points will get you to the next level in Bejeweled Blitz.
You cannot normally match gems diagonally, but Bejeweled Blitz grants you wild cards such as Phoenix Prism that will match any color with a diagonal blast. But these wild cards cost gold coins. If you do not have enough you can use Facebook credits.
Depending on how many points you get, you could win certain prizes such as 25k star medal at the end of a round. At the end of a round, Bejeweled Blitz shows you your total matches and speed on a bar chart. These increase as you progress through Bejeweled Blitz.
After my first couple of rounds of Bejeweled Blitz, I could not stop and take a breather before I needed to play another round. Bejeweled Blitz is so addictive you will get cravings for it in the middle of the day and have dreams about it at night. I highly recommend Bejeweled Blitz.
