It’s no doubt that Facebook has really shortened the boundaries of this world. Now, everybody is near us no matter if we are on the two farthest corners of earth. Not only can you talk to them, you can interact with them in the most comfortable way you want to. But the same thing doesn’t apply on to wishing a birthday to someone. Of course, we can write on their wall, but it’s not exactly what we would have liked. I mean it’s nothing compared to a personal wishing card. But what if that could happen with you sharing different screens in different parts of the world? Wouldn’t that be amazing that your presence is being felt even when you’re not there! Then, just thank Cleverbug for what it’s done.
I am talking about the new iOS app, Birthday Cards by Cleverbug that has been developed by Cleverbug Birthday and Greeting Cards. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad and requires iOS 4.3 or later version of the OS. The app has also been optimized for iPhone 5. The app is nothing less than Archies delivering the birthday cards itself to the birthday boy/girl; even more than that. Let’s see the actual equation on how’s it done.
When you first open the app, connect it to Facebook and choose a friend whose birthday is coming in the next few days. The app takes you to a store of birthday cards with cards already prepared with some of the most popular photos of your friend. You can customize these photos and change them with others or upload any new photo that is not available on Facebook. The cards have a prewritten message as well which you can change if you desire. Not only that, when the birthday actually comes, you can post an electronic version of the card on his/her wall.
The app is a treat to use. There are all the customizable options I was looking for. It was like I asked for something and it was there every time. There are 100+ card designs and it’s very difficult to reject one over the other as they are all very beautiful and resemble a nice blend of traditional and modern designs. I really liked their “Sneak Peak” feature which enables you to share a preview of the card on Facebook with your friends except the one whose birthday is.
The app is available for free in the App Store. You can ask them to send the printed card to you for you to hand it out personally or you can directly send it to your friend. As a birthday gift, your first card will be free. The prices are dependent upon the location cards are being sent at and they offer their service worldwide. I think that this app is a must have for anyone. No one can offer you such personalization in birthday cards and that too anywhere around the world. Highly recommended!
