X- Rainbow – this is the story about an evil doctor who was genius with a bad taste for the world. We know that scientists are mad about their experiments and there’s nothing that can stop them from progressing to their success. But there are many sacrifices that they have to deal with for this victorious taste and sometimes, there sacrifice becomes more of a headache for the rest of the world. This is what happened when this evil Dr. Darko went mad and froze all the colours of the world in some blocks. So now the essence of the entire world was packed within some confined boundaries and it seemed like the universe has lost its soul. But what could be done? It’s Dr. Darko and who was brave enough to fight him for the sake of the humanity! And then the hero (you) arrives to the crime scene who decides to take down the challenge. So who will come out as the winner of this epic battle? We can just wait and watch!

Don’t worry, the story is all about an iOS app and though it’s very much interesting and horrifying at times, it remains confined to the 4.5 inch screen of your iPhone. The app has been developed by Ludimate and is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad and requires iOS 4.3 or later version. Now that the story has been revealed and clearly understood, it’s time to focus on the solution.
There is a very simple solution; just aim at the block and shoot. The moment it bursts out, all the colours will come back to the world they were captured from. But there is another problem. It’s not as simple as it looks. Though you have a shooting point and there are numbers of balls so that you don’t have to rely on just one single ball for all the destruction work, but you don’t have exact control on all the balls as you would have liked. Then all the blocks are not identical as well. They are as simple as a block and as dangerous as a bomb as well. So you have to take proper care while aiming. So there are many different elements combined and each one of them affects the nature of the game strongly in one way or another.

Now, we have a perfect balance of story and gameplay. The only thing that is still missing to be discussed is the graphic department and believe me that it’s not a weak link in this case. The game is all about freeing colours and therefore the entire screen seems to be a hosting a festival as long as the game continues.
The app is available for $0.99 in the App Store and consists of 70 levels of gameplay. But there is a shorter version of 20 levels available as well which is free of cost. So it is kind of a trial version with as much fun as the original.
