Tiny Tank Combat – Aim, Shoot and Survive
In your lifespan, you must have been fantasized by the amazing graphics and animations of video games and if you ever had hands on a game console, you must have played one or another shooting game. Having pistol in your hand and blowing up your enemies while ensuring that you are not being the target of someone else is the essence of this genre. Tank games have been one of the most popular themes in this genre with you battling out against your opponent while controlling your heavyweight vehicle. But what started as a brutal fight is now a strategic-battle involving some on-the-top rules being followed. If so many such apps are making their way to the mainstream, similar should be the case with the App Store and it is. Let’s head our way to yet another edition of one such adventure!
We are talking about the new iOS app, Tiny Tank Combat developed by Hadi Pintarto. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad and requires iOS 4.0 or later version. It is a simple game without any complexity involved in the gameplay. With no story involved for the reason, you just have to shoot down all your opponent tanks and clear the field; as simple as that. More the tanks you defeat, harder it gets to defeat them. However, the gameplay involves some more twists as well. You can double up the count of your coins, save yourself performing special survival stunts; shoot two tanks at once, etc. So, pump up your heart a little to make sure it lasts more!
Remember that while aiming correctly and protecting yourself, you have to collect coins as well. These coins are the exchange currency for valuable items like bullet upgrade, health upgrade, increasing the speed of your tank, etc. which will be available in between your rounds. You can control your tank movement with the controls on screen. With the Game centre featuring leaderboard, you can compare your scores online with your friends and enemies!
The app works fine as far as the action goes. There are no top ups to decorate the final dish. You are getting a plain retro tank shooting game and nothing else. The graphics were dull with some average animations. User interface was also a little bit crude and could be improved for better experience. The battle is epic and we won’t mind replacing the present scenario with a retro one and still getting the same results.
The game is available for free in the App Store. So, if you are not willing to pay for some nice gaming experience, this is the best option. However, if you don’t want to waste your time collecting those virtual coins for your power ups, you can opt for the in-app purchases where the same upgrades will cost you around a dollar or two e.g. double coin value for $1.99 and multi shot for $0.99.
The app is nice but not the best of what we have on the App Store. But still, it’s good to be free. We will recommend it to everyone. Just sit down and burst out your rage on your enemies!
